Staris Kids — Safety & Trust Center

We also publish this document in Portuguese, Japanese, French, and Spanish; where the law of your place of residence entitles you to rely on the version in your own language, that version prevails for you to the extent of any inconsistency.

Staris Kids helps a parent or guardian create personalized, illustrated stories for the children in their care, using AI. Because the Service involves children, photos, and AI-generated content, we hold ourselves to a high standard and publish everything below so you can see exactly how it works. You — the adult account holder — are always in control.

The promises this Center is built on

• Staris Kids is for children; the account is for grown-ups. It is listed in the App Store Kids Category and takes part in Google Play's Designed for Families programme. Accounts are for an adult (18+) parent or legal guardian; we provide no child account and no child sign-in path, and children should not create or independently operate an account. A Child experiences content through the adult's supervised account.
• Character Photos are never saved by us. A photo you use to make a cartoon character is held only in memory, turned into a cartoon, then discarded — we keep the stylized portrait, and a limited written description of facial and appearance characteristics that keeps the character looking like itself across stories (see the Privacy Policy §8). Memory Story photos are stored only briefly while they are analysed, and are automatically deleted once read — normally within seconds. They never appear in the App or in a story, and a saved draft does not contain them. Identifying metadata (such as EXIF geolocation) is removed from both, and both are processed by OpenAI, which does not train on them. See the Privacy Policy §3(c) and Consent & Eligibility Policy §6–§6b.
• No ads, no selling data, no tracking your Child across apps.
• AI does the writing and drawing — Anthropic's Claude writes the stories and OpenAI creates the illustrations — and you are told the content is AI-generated (see the AI Content & Transparency Policy). Our AI providers do not use your data to train their models.
• You can review, correct, and delete any Content, or your entire account, at any time.
• Please review each story before sharing it with a Child — AI is helpful but not perfect.
